knowmad mood participating in the mIT Roundtable for construction software companies in Leipzig discussing AI, cloud infrastructure and sovereign IT solutions

knowmad mood joins the mIT Roundtable for Construction Software in Leipzig

A valuable industry exchange

On 26-27 February 2026, we had the opportunity to participate for the first time in the mIT Roundtable for Construction Companies, hosted by our strategic partner mitteldeutsche IT GmbH in Leipzig.

Around 15 participants from companies developing software solutions for the construction sector joined the event to exchange ideas about current developments in cloud infrastructure, AI, and digital solutions for the construction industry. The small group size created an open atmosphere that encouraged meaningful discussions and direct dialogue between participants.

Insights into infrastructure and new technologies

During several presentations, we gained valuable insights into topics such as:

  • software development infrastructure in the age of AI
  • examples of solid, fast-result no-code platforms and solutions
  • digital twins and their applications in the real estate sector
  • and an inside look at mIT’s data center operations

Of particular interest were the ongoing expansion of mIT’s data center infrastructure and the focus on sovereign IT solutions, including infrastructure operated with 100% renewable energy.

mIT also provided a preview of upcoming innovations, including its own AI offering and mIT Office, a locally hosted alternative to Microsoft 365 designed for organizations that require a high level of data sovereignty and compliance.

Presenting our MSP approach

As part of the roundtable, we introduced knowmad mood and our development from ASERVO Software to knowmad mood Germany.

A key focus of our presentation was our Managed Service Provider (MSP) concept, which is built on the infrastructure of our partner mIT. We demonstrated how this approach enables companies to operate secure, sovereign IT environments while remaining flexible and scalable.

Participants showed strong interest in the straightforward integration of local AI applications within this setup.

Strong alignment on AI sovereignty

One of the key takeaways from the discussions was that data sovereignty and autonomous IT solutions are becoming increasingly important for companies in the construction software ecosystem, especially when it comes to AI applications and sensitive project data.

It was encouraging to see how strongly these priorities align with both mIT’s infrastructure strategy and our own service and solution approach.

Networking beyond the presentations

The first day concluded with a shared dinner at the historic
Auerbachs Keller in Leipzig’s city center. A short, guided tour through the famous location provided a relaxed setting for further discussions and helped deepen connections between participants.

Our conclusion

For us, the roundtable was a very valuable first participation. We gained new insights into the needs of software providers in the construction industry, received positive feedback on our MSP approach, and established several promising contacts for future collaboration.

We are looking forward to continuing the exchange and further strengthening our partnership with mIT in the future.

The organizers also indicated that they would like to repeat the round-table next year with a similar group of participants. We would be very happy to join again and continue the exchange.
